The illegitimate child of American pop chanteuse/actress Doris Day and an obscure French violinist/actor (whose name has been withheld), Bonnie spent her first few years in an orphanage in the French coastal town of Quimper, just below Brest, until being adopted by two schoolteachers from Connecticut. Her only possessions were a black and white photo of her mother, and her father’s tattered violin.

Bonnie quickly grew to love her “progressive” American parents, who shared their hippy music with the young girl. She was treated to many a fireside kumbaya, (during which she would play along on the violin) as well as the soothing sounds of chanteuse Judy Collins. “Send in the Clowns” was her favorite number. She had her first experience with LSD at the age of 7. It blew her mind, yes. Little did she know she would be experiencing the equally mind-blowing Nous Non Plus just shy of two decades later.

Bonnie continued her violin studies, and took the stage at Carnegie Hall with a full orchestra at age 10. A year later, she discovered the music of Debbie Harry, became infected with “high tide” fever, and promptly gave up the violin to become a rock and roll singer. Bonnie dropped out of school and out of society for many years, and was discovered by Nous Non Plus in 2005—drunk and disheveled, belting out tunes at a karaoke bar. We knew we had our new chanteuse.
